Lazy Sunday, wake up in the late afternoon

I don't know why, but I feel like blogging. I don't have very much news to report besides that we have enjoyed this weekend just getting to spend time together, even if one of us is sick. I keep thinking I am going to get Jeff's germs, but apparently my immune system is doing what it's supposed to be doing. This is all well and good, but I wouldn't mind having to take a few days off of work. Speaking of which, I will be officially leaving behind my life as a teller in a couple of months. I will be returning to the classroom. I am teaching three sections of Foundations of English 101 for the Winter 2010 semester. I am super excited because although there is a lot of work involved with even just one class, it doesn't really feel like work. I have such a great time with my students, and I learn so much from them. But what I really like about starting my fourth semester of teaching is that I have learned some hard lessons about what works and what doesn't for me and for my students. Because I almost have this first year behind me, I feel much more confident that my students can walk away feeling enlightened and uplifted, which is what I want more than anything. I never want my any of my students to feel like I have wasted their time. That is such a horrible feeling.

Okay, so what else is going on? Oh! We're taking off this weekend to Jackson Hole! We are pretty excited to use the family timeshare there. Mostly, I'm excited for some yummy BBQ. Yes, most of my thoughts revolve around food, but still, it should be a great time.

And as an update from a previous post, the weather has actually been pretty nice here since that first snow. We've have 60 degree weather this whole last week. I am thankful for this because Fall, as we all know, is the best season.

And just to finish this post off, I got to do some pretty interesting things this past week. Here's a list:

  • Benefited from Columbus Day for the first time (the Federal Reserve is closed on this day, so my credit union is too)
  • Tried contacts again (something I swore I would never do...by the way, it's not going well)
  • Made buffalo wings in my crock pot and was pleasantly surprised
  • Met our friends' new baby boy, Mr. Boston Martinez. He is absolutely perfect.
  • Organized my closet. For those of you who know me, this is something that is difficult for me. I HATE putting away clothes. It is my most dreaded household chore. I don't know why. It just is.
  • Stayed up late watching a movie in bed
  • Felt rested...we'll see how long that lasts ;)
So here's me, wishing each of you a happy week!
