In other news, this month is bringing with it a few surprises and some awesome events. Last Wednesday the temperature dropped, and we had our first taste of winter. Idaho sometimes likes to entirely skip Autumn (the best of all the seasons). And yes, I'll agree that the first snow can be really beautiful, but sleet is another story. A wet, unpleasant story.
But the temperature has risen a little since then, and the air outside is cool and crisp, just the way I like it. And also last week, I blew out a tire on the way to work. Jeff and I decided to exchange cars for the week since it was his turn to drive his carpool to his work. So there I was, just barely out of Rexburg, and it felt as if I was driving on divets, when I realized, "Hey! I'm in the middle of the road, not veering off the side!" I started to see smoke, and I slowed down and pulled off to the side where I then proceeded to turn on my emergency flashing lights. To make a long story short, a kind young man who was driving toward Rexburg to get to his morning class saw me, pulled off on the exit, turned around and helped me on the other side of the highway. He told me "My wife drives to Pocatello everyday, so if she were in trouble, I would want someone to help her too." He then started to change the tire when a policeman came to assist and assess the situation. All the while, I was trying to dry my tears. I'm so glad that this good Samaritan came to help me because I was in such shock that changing the tire hadn't even occurred to me. Incredible? Yes, I know, that's how surprised I was. I couldn't even think straight. So if you're out there blog-stalking me, Dear Samaritan, thank you again for being so awesome.
Along with that, school has been going really well. My students are enthusiastic and the three hour class time just simply flies. I feel so great after teaching class that when I get home, between 9:00 and 9:30, I can't decide if I'm just simply exhausted or rearing to go for another round. Actually, I'm mostly just exhausted but thrilled to do and teach what I love.
And now here are a few things that I am looking forward to:
Last session of conference
Making and eating pork burritos with Jeff and Jaime
Working on our home decor--we are in desperate need of some shelving, pillows, and curtains.
Getting insurance!

Yeah, I love when you blog! Life is hard, especially when it it sleeting, yuk! However, try to enjoy your Idaho phase of life, I wish I could be there! It will always be home to me. Every experience you have like the tire blowing is just another thing to check off a list of things we have to do while here in this life. Some of us get to check things off multiple times unfortunately! Anyway, love you! Enjoy that teaching!
It was so nice to see you updated this! You guys seem like you are crazy busy! I am soo glad that you were able to get help with the tire! That is such a pain when it happens!
P.S. I have a bag of magazines that I have already read...do you want them??
Hello, my dear Melanie! It was wonderful to talk to you yesterday, I am glad to hear your life is going so well. You seem to be comfortable in your surroundings and I am glad you have that 3 hr class...things like that keep life from being monotonous. I always feel revved up after I go to Young Women on Wednesday and get some energy from my girls. Tired from a long day with the babies and then rush to get dinner and baths and out the door, only to perform for another hour and a half then time to relax or do another project? love it! and I love you!
Love to hear the Nelson updates. I hope the next time you have a flat tire you are tar-matic. (hehehe) No amount of driveway training can prepare one for the real thing. I'm so glad you were safe. Lov DAD
Wahoo! You updated your blog! And
MADE MY DAY. I am uncomfortable, that you had a flat tire, alone on the highway! Hope you had your cell phone. Safety is the only good use for them. Love that you are teaching. And I love you and Jeff. Keep blogging, it is my link to share your life.
