Well, it's another one of those nights. I'm laying on the couch way past my bedtime trying to make myself tired. When did I become so old that if I sleep in a little late or take a short snooze during the day that it keeps me up at night? I've been off of naps for a long while simply because they don't allot time for them in the "real world." But I have been living the life of a nomad for the past few weeks--a life where naps are not off limits but actually encouraged. Naps are an essential element of my kind of paradise.
However, my relationship with naps is a love/hate one. I love to take naps, but my sleep schedule hates being thrown off. One of us is going to have to compromise. And judging by the fact that I am returning to student teaching tomorrow, I think I am the one who is going to have to bend.
But oh, how I love to nap! We drove back from CA on Thursday and Friday and have been trying to recover ever since. So this afternoon, I put on my Snow White DVD and settled in for a little R&R. Little did I know how comfortable I would get in the luv sac ( I NEVER use it, but Dali does). I finished the movie and felt powerless to pry myself from the giant pillow bag. Then my eyes started to feel heavy. Then I snuggled up to my homemade afghan. Then I was out like a light.
But I'm paying for it now. Shucks!
I guess while I'm here I'll give a quick rundown of the past couple of weeks:
Stayed in Park City
Skied for the first time! I fell a bunch, but the important thing is that I got back up!
Played Apples to Apples
Drove to CA
Went to see Christmas lights
Shopped before and after Christmas
Wrapped a bunch of presents
Celebrated Christmas
Saw True Grit on Christmas Day (Swank tradition)
Went to the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles
Stayed in LA for Dinner
Shopped at the Grove
Started reading The Other Boleyn Girl
Used FaceTime a whole bunch to call home
Played with a Dalmatian puppy at a pet store while missing Dali
Napped!
Those are the events that are coming to mind, but I'm sure I'm missing something. I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday week full of family, fun, and most importantly, good food ;)

I hate the dilemma of napping too! If I nap I am done for at night time. I will wake up every couple hours and not even sleep well when I am asleep...so lame! Get used to it girlie! I miss you and wish we could visit together soon!!
For the whole insomnia after the napping thing...UNISOM works like a gem:) You should try it!
And, I am curious to know how that book you are reading is...let me know if its worth my time:)
I love my nap on Sat and Sun, that's the only time they work out for me, but I might just nap after seminary if I have the day off, we'll see. Sound like you had fun, wish we could see you soon!
