So here's a list of all the places we've been and all the things that we were able to do over our summer vacation.
Monday, July 26
We left Rexburg!
Ate breakfast at Smitty's (My Grandpa Hatch's favorite spot)
Drove to Las Vegas and spent the night in a new hotel called the Vdara (thanks Hotwire!)
Walked the strip and ate at Burger Bar
Tuesday, July 27
Used the hotel wi-fi for my grad school classes until we had to check out
Drove to Jeff's mom's house
Wednesday, July 28
Got some rest
Visited with family
Ate yummy tacos with homemade salsa
Went to LAX to catch a red-eye flight to PA
Got upset on the flight because they said they were going to play "The Last Song" with Miley Cyrus and they never did. Not cool.
Being bored while waiting in the airport
Ever since our wedding, I've really liked mentos (they were our wedding favors)
Dad picked us up at BWI
I got to meet my sweet nephew, Joseph!
Visited with my parents and Melissa
Went to the train station
Took the train to Manhattan
Met Ryan and Jaime
Checked out the timeshare
Ate dinner at Cafeteria in Chelsea
Ate at Magnolia Bakery for dessert

Friday, July 30Got student rush tickets for Mary Poppins on Broadway
Took a nap (thank goodness)
Ate pizza for lunch at two different restaurants
Went shopping
Went to a pet store and played with some very cute furry friends
Ate at a yummy Italian place called Frankies
Saw Mary Poppins--dead last row, really rude ushers, and other theater-goers, but boy, does Disney put on a show.

Saturday, July 31
Woke up at 8:30 when our train was leaving at 9:09 am
Unbelievably we found our seats on the train at 9:04, I still can't believe we made it--such a blessing
Joey, my bro-in-law, surprised everyone by showing up unannounced--very fun surprise
Ate Roma, a gizmo and a slice
Went swimming
Sunday, August 1
Went to church
Ate spaghetti-a Swank favorite
Played with my sweet niece and nephew
Monday, August 2
Went to see bull dog puppies and I got peed on
Went to Wilbur and stocked up on some buds and triple-coated almonds
Tuesday, August 3
Had to meet online with my USC classes--don't they know I'm on vacation??!!
Jeff made pizza for everyone
Saw Inception with the family--So crazy awesome

Thursday, August 5
Went to Sushi Masu in Los Angeles for an early anniversary dinner. WOW. It was the most amazing sushi I've ever had although I had to fight a gag reflex after eating uni (sea urchin)
Friday, August 6
Met Cory and Kelsey for dinner at a ramen noodle house--it was also amazing. Just a little hole-in-the-wall place in some desolate, run-down shopping center
Saturday, August 7
Jeff and I and Ryan and Jaime all did ear candles on each other. Such a weird and gross thing to do, but we tried it out and can now hear better!
Went with Ryan and Jaime to dinner and the Dodger game--We won!!

Spent the day with Jeff
Went to dinner with Jeff's Dad's family for Jaime's birthday
Went to the movies
Tuesday, August 10
Celebrated Jaime's birthday
Jeff made baby back ribs as per Jaime's request
Gave Jaime a pretty necklace
Wednesday, August 11
Supported Jeff's golf addiction by riding in the cart with him for 18 holes
Finally got some Panera--Turkey Bacon Bravo and asian sesame salad
Thursday, August 12
Finally made the drive home
Friday, August 13
Picked Dali up from the doggysitter's
Unpacked everything and did laundry
Making myself way too tired by blogging all this
Must try to stay awake at the cheap theater tonight. We're going to go see the Karate Kid.
WHOOSH! Luckily I have some time before the new semester starts to catch my breath.
