Never a dull moment

This last month has been CRAZY! I'm sure that everyone thinks the same thing about their lives around this time of year. But for US, it's been highly eventful.

I guess I'll start with December 12--We drove down to SLC for the day. We bought tickets for the Jazz/Laker game back in September the night that the Phillies won their postseason series against the Dodgers. I had a pretty sad husband that day. So December came and we headed south for the much anticipated event. With our luck, of course, our 3 1/2 hour drive became a 5 hour long trip because of the weather. Jeff's arms were sore that night from keeping the car from veering off of the road. Needless to say, we're grateful we got there and back in one piece. While we were there, we ate at Rodizio Grill (a first for me) and after that, we watched the Lakers lose. Talk about a letdown. But it was my first NBA game, so I was just happy to be there.

After that weekend, Jeff and I finished our last week at our respective jobs. Friday, the 18th was our last day and then we left for Christmas vacation on that Sunday. We drove down with my sister-in-law, Jaime to Park City, Utah, to spend some time with Jeff's Dad and his family. We spent our time there window shopping and visiting. From there, we drove to Rancho Cucamonga, CA to spend time with Jeff's Mom, Lori, and her family. I can't even express how grateful I was to be able to soak up some warmth while we were there. It was so nice to go without even a jacket.

While we were there we saw Avatar and Sherlock Holmes. We also went to the Getty Art Museum in Los Angeles. It is a really interesting museum which is set on a hill. You have to take a tram to get from the parking garage to the main lobby. It also has a great deal of outdoor artwork, including creative landscaping. Our trip happened to be on the only day that it rained so we chose to spend the day inside rather than out. Also, the museum's buildings were surrounded by fog so we couldn't see any of the outdoor pieces. Lame.

We were sure to stop at In n Out. Several times.

We also did all of our shopping on the 23rd and the 24th. To some people that might seem crazy, which we are, but it worked out really well. We were really happy with what we came up with.

Let's see, what else? We left Dali here in Idaho with a good friend of mine from work. She's been a complete angel ever since! I think she's trying to be as sweet as possible so we don't leave her like that again! Or maybe she's growing up. Who knows? I don't know the reason for all the sweetness, but it's just fine by me!

Oh and one of the highlights of the break...We babysat for Jeff's Dad and for his Mom so each of them could do out on a date with their spouses. It was a lot of fun. Jeff's siblings are SO sweet and wonderful. I am grateful that Jeff has younger siblings; I always wanted some of my own. Now, I just get to share with Jeff. It's awesome.

Now, here we are it's January 10, 2010. Jeff and I are back in school. He's a student. I'm a teacher. I have three sections of freshman writing, otherwise known as Foundations of English 101. We are serving together in the nursery; today was our first day. It's going to be interesting. One thing I already love about it? Watching how good Jeff is with kids. He made a friend today named Liv. She cried every time he tried to set her down :) Also today, I started messing around with my first ever sewing machine. I am really excited to learn how to sew. I'm even taking a class at BYUI to develop my sewing skills. Other than that, everything is going really well. With our new schedules, Jeff and I get to spend quite a bit of time together which I'm very grateful for.

And I apologize about the lack of pictures. Jeff's camera hates me. I took pictures and now they are no where to be found. Awesome.
